Naghi Next: Maidstone & Malling’s Fresh Start

Firstly, a thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign website, and welcome to the first post of the news section. Here you will be up to date with monthly newsletters, information on events, and also posts further explaining why it is now that we have the best chance to bring true representation to our new constituency Maidstone & Malling.

With these new boundaries comes new opportunities. In what is a town with a far and wide community, it is fantastic to have Malling now officially part of the constituency. Many people in and around Maidstone have a strong connection to the town, and it does feel that we are now one community in our new constituency. We now have the ability as a collective to create change and put the priorities of Maidstone and Malling back to the forefront.

I strongly believe that the representation Maidstone, and Malling in their previous constituency, have had under the Tories has done nowhere near enough to put our community’s priorities first. The Liberal Democrats have always been strong in our area, but in what is a traditionally safe seat for the Tories, it has been very difficult to bring the true representation that our constituency needs and deserves. That can all change this year.

Furthermore, the polls are consistently predicting that the Liberal Democrats will be a stronger force in Parliament; giving us more power to push forward the priorities that matter to our constituents, whilst holding those in power to the highest of scrutiny.

As stated in ‘My Priorities’ I will fight for our community and push forward the concerns that matter to our constituents. As someone who has been living in Maidstone since three years old, I can safely say your concerns are my concerns. I live where you live, I get stuck in the same traffic you do, and I try to book the appointments you try to book. I now want to have the opportunity to work full-time to make Maidstone and Malling simply a better place for all of us. This is what I mean by true representation. As I have done throughout my public service, I will continually be in our community, working hard for you and your concerns.

We have shown the nation the spirit that our community holds with our historic FA Cup run thanks to the heroes at Maidstone United. Let us show the country further what we can achieve by coming together to make Maidstone and Malling a place with true representation.
